#onebigtruth

Today I have linked up with Courtney DeFeo for her #onebigtruth link up party.  Courtney has asked bloggers and gals on the Instagram world to share the BIG truths God has been teaching them. - a before and after, if you will.  This is what God is showing me:

I realize this second shot looks like nothing short of a third grade school picture backdrop, but this is how it is working today folks.  I work so hard to be the perfect size. Is there even such a thing?  I see the plus sized models on TV commercials and just think how beautiful and feminine they are with the curves and softness.  Yet, I can look in the mirror and hear the enemy whispering how I need to lose a few more pounds etc.  I am an acheiver.. an over achiever.  I've always wanted the best grades and the newest clothes.  I schedule so much in my life and stay busy.  I keep an organized schedule with attempts to be in everyone's life.  It's a good thing but can get out of hand when it becomes "hey look what I'm doing here! I'm doing A B and C and you're doing nothing!" I was previously a rule follower/legalist (and in some ways, I still am).  BUT GOD - don't you love seeing those in Scripture.. There's always a change in the story at that moment and how God is going to redeem.  But God has been showing me over the past few months His grace and how I don't have to be the best.  I don't have to acquire the "best" status.  He's already done that for me! Though I strive and strive to be the best, I come up weak.  I want to accomplish everything on my own, but the heart of the gospel is that apart from Him we can do Nothing!  His Grace is sufficient for me (2 Cor. 12:9).

    1. How wonderful it would be to not even know of a perfection of the world ... But His grace is good! Thank you for reading .. It's encouraging to know other women battle the same things and how God works in our lives.
