Treaures - Elisabeth Elliot Part II

Whew! It's been almost a whole week since I've written, but I haven't really done a lot of reading either.  Here are some wonderful truths from Quest for Love.

* "Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong." 1 Corinthians 16:13  The night I opened my book to this particular chapter this was the verse that started off the chapter. I couldn't read any further because the truth of this verse just urged me to prayer.  In those next few moments, I began to pray for my future mate. I often do this. Not that I know a face, but I pray for whoever he is.  My prayer was this very verse. I prayed for my husband to be a man of courage, boldness, strength, compassion, faithfulness, love, protection- all of which exhibit a man who is standing firm in his faith pursuing both courage and being strong.

* And this.. It says it all.
It is good that we should have to submit to what we do not understand.
It teaches us the laws of faith and hope.
It is good that we should have to do what we should rather not, in
                     circumstances not of our choice.
It is good that there should be always something to prick us on,
something to remind us that we are in an enemy's country,
                     belonging to a marching column.
It is good that we should meet with checks and failures in what we
undertake, to keep us humble and prayerful.
All these things belong to sowing in tears.
God seems to have laid out the order of things in His Church,
not for a general and brilliant triumph but for the hidden
sanctification of the individual souls which compose it.

Hope you guys enjoy! From this point on, I will be on vacation for the rest of the week - Bachelorette Party tonight, Dinner with friends tommorow and time with the mama and daddy, and then cruising to THE BAHAMAS :)
