I used to be the girl who couldn't stand to go to a sleepover because it meant a night away from home. I didn't like trips away from my parents. Hated would be the correct term. That one week at GA camp - killer. I even chose a college close to home for this very reason. Then came seminary. I moved away from the little town of darlings, and I haven't looked back. Except every so often when I get just a little homesick. The cure is all of 2-3 days, and then back to my little life in Raleigh I go. It's a good balance. But right now is the every so often. I love the summer in SC. I love the sun and the long nights. I love the sunsets and green grass. I love the familiarity and the slower rhythm. I love that little corner of the world. I love spending time with my mama and daddy. I love a cool Saturday morning and reading my Bible on the back porch. This is my SC life. Slower.My life is here for now. I enjoy it. And I'm thankful for it. But I hope to soon return to the faces and places I love in the SC just for that 2 to 3 day fix. It'd be quite nice I'd say!
